A may have been a very wet day but it was still packed and what graf was done was excellent!

Krome Ink is running the first of many events. UpRock is an all day and into the early hours of the morning event at Boileroom in Guildford. Inside there are the Kane FM Djs spinning old skool hip hop and drum step. Outside are legends of London graf: Fuel, Prime, Doze, Crymein, Cry and Merc painting live all day. The event is free to get in from 11am untill 8pm then it is £6 untill 2am.

Q1) When did you first start playing out and what style of music were you playing?

A1) I started playing out about 1998 and i was playing Garage at the time…

Q2)  What regular nights do you do?

A2) I play all over the place but i have Residency @ Noir, Weybridge, 5 & Lime, Guildford, Egg club, Kings Cross and Blush Promo (which tours at different venues!!

Q3) What venues does the ‘Blush Promo’ feature at and when?

A3) Blush Promo has featured @ No 5 Cavendish Sq, Dusk, 5 & lime, The Langley, Noir, Spearmint Rhinos (which is where the next one is on the 17th July!!) , Done a few parties in Ibiza and also had Residency (every 3 months) @ Taboo in Johannesburg!

Q4) Have you ever had an STD?

A4)  Hahahahaha NO thank god!!!

Q5) Tell us about the strangest thing that has happened to you while DJing?

A5) I dont know if its the strangest but it was embarressing to say the least…. I was djing and talking to this girl, she asked for my number and i was very interested in giving it to her and during this i didnt realise the record was about to run out so quickly do the mix, then proceeded to give her my number and then took the wrong needle off the decks…..

Q6) What else is in the pipeline for you?

A6) Well i have been in the studio learning all the equipment to make my own beats and have now finished my first 2 tracks, so hopefully more of that to come!!

Q7) Where do you see yourself in 5 years time?

A7) I would like to see myself playing across the globe abit more, i have played in Miami, Jo’burg, Cypress, Spain, Ibiza and Germany but would like to reach further!!

Q8) What is the best venue you have ever played and why?

A8) The best place i have ever played at is probably Ministry….. Do I need to give a reason?? Ministry is Ministry!!!

Jake’ The Hammer’ Kannoo is an under 16 fighter from Portsmouth. One of the top fighters at his club he is known to have serious potential and some say he could go all the way. We get him to answer a few questions:

Q1) What boxing club are you a member of?

A1) My boxing club is ‘Average Joes’ boxing gym and I train under the tuition of Andy Foreman but I have trained under Mark Adams bamma MMA champion and Brian Adams of South Coast Submissions.

Q2) What martial arts do you train in?

A2) At the moment I’m training in just boxing as im intersted in MMA and Thai boxing but being of a young age it gets hard to be matched.

Q3) What is your current fight record?

A3) At the moment its 3 fights 2 wins at 3 different weights, I’ve won at junior welterweight I lost at light weight and won at featherweight for which im challenging for the Southern Area title soon.

Q4) Who are your idols?

A4) My idols Ali off course Mayweather and Tyson for boxing.

Q5) Would you throw a fight for a million pounds?

A5) Hard to answer depends how much was at stake as I may wanna fight the guy so much that the money wouldn’t be an issue but hey a million pound is a lot off money.

Q6) What do you see yourself doing in the future?

A6) The future well I definately want to win the Southern Areas title that will push me to British titles and eventually international titles I’m sure that I will do some sort of contact sport I have alot off support at my age from friends,family and sposors.
